How can you get 5x more visitors, with 1/5 of the work using a blog?
A few weeks ago, on my other blog, I wrote a post called “Snobbiness = Sales?”. In that post, I shared with you a recent conversation that I had with my coaching partner, Henry Gold.
In that post, I asked the question:
Not only did I tell you about Henry Gold being a snob,
I didn’t realize that blog post would open up such a can of worms!
Immediately after I wrote it, Terry Dean came back to my blog and wrote a great comment. (Thanks Terry!)
A day or so later, Henry Gold put a post on his blog about the article. And yesterday, Henry blogged about it again.
And that’s just the people who made their comments public! That doesn’t even take into consideration all of the people who phoned me, emailed me, etc. to talk about that post.
Do you see how one little conversation between two friends quickly spread, not just to a few other people, but to literally THOUSANDS of readers, all through just a few simple blog posts?
That’s the power of BLOGS !
What else are blogs good for?
Blogs are great for SO many reasons!
- Blogs allow you to build a MUCH stronger relationship with your visitors than any other type of site. (Not only that, but they will become much more loyal customers eventually as well.)
- Blogs allow you to drive MUCH more traffic than you can with just about any other type of medium. (Ok, I did a call with Frank Sousa the other night and he’s pretty much convinced me that Traffic Geyser can get you more traffic than any blog ever could. But with the exception of Traffic Geyser, blogs win, hands down!)
- Blogs can be even used to build Joint Ventures for TRAFFIC GENERATION! (Now there’s a REALLY unique idea, right?)
Let me explain #3 to you further, because it’s an idea that I think would be a LOT of fun, could get a TON of traffic, and would make blogging a lot less work.
Imagine this …
- You’re a newbie affiliate marketer.
- You don’t have any products.
- You don’t have many technical skills.
- You’re going crazy trying to keep your head above water.
(Sound familiar?)
You probably have either:
a) Avoided the whole subject of organizing Joint Ventures because they don’t apply to you, or
b) You started a blog, wrote your first post, never got a visitor and gave up, or
c) Both a & b above.
(Am I getting even warmer yet?)
How could doing either a joint venture OR a blog really help you?
Let me ask you one more question …
If I told you that there was a way that you could increase the number of visitors that you’d get by 500%, and yet you’d be able to do this with 1/4 the amount of work, would you believe me?
Now you’re probably thinking that I am totally off my rocker, right?
Well listen up because that is really TRUE!
Prepare to be AMAZED how wrong you’ve been about both joint ventures AND blogs!
You see, a Joint Venture is merely two or more persons or entities coming together to meet a mutually beneficial business goal. There is absolutely no reason that a joint venture needs to be just for a product launch.
There is no reason whatsoever that a joint venture should not be used for driving traffic or a myriad of other tasks that an affiliate marketer must undertake every day.
And blogging? Well, blogs really do help you build much bigger, much more responsive lists, much faster than almost any other list building method.
Here’s what you could do …
Go and find yourself a small group of affiliate marketers who could become your Joint Venture Partners.
Get them to each agree to write 3 to 5 blog posts per week.
Each of you would get your own “Category” on the blog (see the topics over in that right column? Those are “Categories”.)
On the “About” page of the blog, put up each of your pictures and underneath, each of your names. Then link each one to it’s own page. On the individual pages, talk about the author and at the top of the page, put in a newsletter subscribe box so that the visitor could get on that affiliates list.
In the sidebar, under a general “Subscribe” box where the reader can subscribe to the blog itself, put up a picture of your product. Using a special WordPress plugin, you can display a separate plugin on each category. For each of the JV Partners, then, you simply add their product to their individual category.
Each time one of the JV Partners puts up a new post, ALL of the affiliates in the group add that post to their individual social bookmarking accounts. That way, you can get even more traffic to the blog on a regular basis.
How many visitors could this joint effort drive?
Well, for each blog post that you put up & each add to a social bookmarking account, you should expect to get between 50 and 75 visitors. If you EACH add it to your account, just multiply that number by the number of people in your group.
If you have 5 people, that would mean that each post could get you 250+ visitors.
And, if each of you writes 3 to 5 posts per week, that would give you a total of 15 to 25 posts per week. If each of you bookmarks every one of these posts, that would bring you at least 750 to 1,250 visitors PER WEEK!
And that’s if you only add each post to ONE social bookmarking site. You should be adding them all to at least 4 sites (these are digg, delicious, technorati, and Stumble Upon). If you do the math, that means you can expect to get 3,000 to 5,000 visitors EVERY WEEK !
Now, let’s compare this to what you can do on your own.
If you wrote that same 3 to 5 posts per week, added each one to your own account at 4 social bookmarking sites, you would get only 600 to 1,000 posts per week. And you’d be doing the same amount of work!
What would be stopping you from stepping a little outside your comfort zone and try this for yourself?
